The Welcome Reception is open to all registered participants. The reception will take place in the Bel Air Hotel from 18.00 - 20.00 hrs on Friday 13 May 2011. The Welcome Reception is a chance for you to network with new contacts and catch up with old friends. In a friendly and informal atmosphere with drinks and snacks served generously, please come along and relax after the excitement of the first full day at the Congress.
For accompanying person separate registration by registered participant is necessary at an additional cost of 16,50 euro. The ticket will be delivered at the registration desk.
The dinner will take place in 'Madurodam' from 19:00 - 23:00 hrs on Saturday 14 May 2011.
'Madurodam' is at 15 minutes walking distance from the Bel Air Hotel. Madurodam is the world-famous miniature city. During the dinner you can take a walk and look around in this famous miniature city to familiarize with all surprising features in The Netherlands.

Day 1, Thursday 12 May 2011 |
Keukenhof & Delft – 8 hours (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) |

This tour starts with a beautiful ride through the bulb area. The bulb area lies behind the row of dunes running from Leiden to Haarlem, where as far as the eye can see, the fields are like a magic carpet of daffodils, narcissi, hyacinths and tulips, all ablaze with the richest and most delightful colorings. We visit the flower exhibition the “Keukenhof”, where millions of bulbs are displayed in the perfection of artistry all over a lovely 65-acre park. Lunch at leisure.
We continue our tour to Delft, the city where Vermeer lived and painted. Walk at leisure through the beautiful old centre of the town along the canals and many almshouses and optional visit of The Royal Dutch Delftware Manufactory De Porceleyne Fles. The manufactory was established in 1653 and is the last remaining Delftware factory from the 17th century. The world famous Royal Delftware is still entirely hand-painted according to centuries old tradition. During the tour you will get an insight in the process of making Delftware by the old techniques and you will see the talented artists paint the Royal Delftware.

Past and present, trade and leisure, religion and coffee shops, diamonds and beer, all flourish together in splendid Amsterdam! On this extensive bus excursion you will see all that Amsterdam has to offer you. From the historical monuments in the centre to the modern architecture from the 21st century. A picture stop at a windmill and a visit to a diamond factory are included.
We will see Amsterdam from the water during a canal cruise (with lunch on board included). While gliding through the city and into the harbour; you see merchant’s mansions, churches and warehouses dating from the 17th century.
Your local guide will take you through the most picturesque neighbourhood of Amsterdam, which is called " Jordaan". This part of Amsterdam with its narrow streets and small canals was built in the 17th century. The higher classes lived along the big canals, the lower classes and craftsmen in de Jordaan. Nowadays the area is the centre for art, musicians and antiques. The names of the streets all represent names of flowers or bushes, the real inner gardens however are hidden behind the facades of beautiful small gables. This neighbourhood offers great antique shops and other particular stores. Right on the edge of the Jordaan, next to the beautiful landmark of Westerkerk you will find the Anne Frank House where Anne Frank was hiding during the German occupation. This small, however impressive museum, is definitely worth a visit (entrance included).

Full day excursion with private coach and English speaking guide through the typical Dutch Countryside.
In the surrounding of Amsterdam there are many beautiful and typical Dutch villages which are definitely worth a visit. This excursion takes you first north of Amsterdam, to the edge of the Zaan river, where you visit the windmill village `de Zaanse Schans`, with its characteristic green wooden houses. On the turn of the 18th century this district was an industrial area with approximately 700 windmills in use. In this day and age there are only five left. We will pay a visit to a windmill and a wooden shoe factory.
We continue our tour to Volendam, an old picturesque village on the shore of the former “Zuiderzee”. We will have lunch in a wonderful restaurant. After lunch, you have some time to stroll around.
We will continue to Marken by boat (included), this small town is situated on a former island and is located near the IJssellake. It is a lovely place to visit and has many special features like its houses on pillars, the traditional green painted houses and folkloristic customs and clothing’s. Walk along the small bridges and little alleys and admire the historic houses.

The Hague is one of the cities which have played a crucial role in the history of the Netherlands and is now our governmental city. You drive through the historic centre with the government buildings and you will see some of the highlights of this city like The Mauritshuis museum. This museum, which rises out of the water like a Venetian palace, houses an outstanding collection of paintings from the Golden Age. You will see paintings from the famous painters Rembrandt van Rijn, Frans Hals en Johannes Vermeer. We continue our drive to the fishermen harbor of Scheveningen.
